JOB DESCRIPTION
Your Role

The Broker Sales team is responsible for recruiting, training, and developing the external broker channel for Blue Shield of California Senior Markets within assigned geographies. The Broker Sales Manager, Senior will report to the Senior Regional Area Sales Manager. In this role you will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities and represent Blue Shield of California by leading external broker and general agency relationships, and maintaining and enhancing those relationships, to grow the Medicare line of business.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Handle the most complex cases within the broker sales team and act as second level-escalation before going to manager
  • Present and educate brokers on product updates via webinars and attend in-person visits with top producers to train them on issue resolution and self-serving tools
  • Attend and present at the annual broker roadshows in Southern California
  • Responsible for new sales volume and growth of profitable Senior Market business, and work to achieve operational targets within job area with impact on department results
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to meet assigned sales targets
  • Develop and maintain relationships with provider partners, community influencers to promote lead generating opportunities and BSC presence, and maintain health care industry knowledge
  • Ascertain needs of producers and assist with business planning, and presentations at point of sale
  • Educate on product portfolios, capabilities, and health care solutions, facilitate delivery of proposals to brokers, and obtain competitive information.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain strategic business plan to achieve goals
  • Travel 70% in assigned territory to meet with brokerages, territory is in North and West Los Angeles County, and Central Coast, and must be able to travel to the territory on a regular basis

QUALIFICATIONS
Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires at least 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires a California State Life and Health License
  • Requires experience working with Medicare with progressively more responsible positions in sales and sales management in the healthcare insurance industry, ideally within the managed care sector
  • Requires a proven leadership record, achievement of results, and outstanding people and team management/development experience
  • Requires proficiency in CMS regulations and standards
  • Experience with Medi-Cal, Government Programs, Managed Care Plans, Medicare Supplement products highly desired
  • Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is: $ 79538.80 to $ 127261.20 for California.

Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
